At The Help Hub, we understand that everyone's brain is different, and we believe that this is something to be celebrated.

We strive to foster an environment that is welcoming to all, and to recognize and nurture the unique strengths and abilities that each individual brings.

We don't see differences in the way your brain works as something that needs to be "fixed" or that is broken, disordered or flawed.

We do understand that when you think, feel, behave or perceive the world differently from what most people expect, that can create some tough situations, and we are experts in helping young people and their families navigate them.

What does that mean in practice?

You are the expert in you!

We welcome you to share your preferred language, sensory needs, learning style or anything else that makes you, you! We strive to make you as comfortable as possible in our space, and to offer you support in a way that makes the most sense for you.

We don't do "normal".

We are not interested in telling you what you need based on neurotypical expectations. We'd like to support you in navigating the world in a way that makes sense for you. So, if you don't think it's a problem, we won't make it one.

Labels are for jars of peanut butter.

Sure, sometimes labels can help us understand what ingredients are in the jar, but they don't tell us what the peanut butter tastes like.

In the same way, you might have a label like ADHD or autism, but it doesn't tell us what you are like, or what you need. It just gives us a little information about what's in your jar. We will rely on you to tell us what you are hoping for, and how we might be able to help.
